Catherine Rose was born on 9/29 at 4:11pm. She was 6lbs4oz and 18.5" long.

I had my 18 week midwife appointment last Monday. Everything went swimmingly, heard the heartbeat right away, growth on target, all that jazz. But my BP was a little high, as it seems to have been this whole pregnancy. They took it twice, the first time it was 140/90, and then after about 10 minutes of lying down, it came down to 130/90. On Wednesday my blood pressure was rather high at my doc's appt, it was 160 over 88 so he said I should go to triage at the L&D of the hospital to have it taken again and bloodwork done if necessary. I went hours later after I was done work, and it was 133 over 84. They did 5 different vials of blood and hooked me up to some band and circle ( Read more... )

So tomorrow my baby will be 1 week old. I had an exciting but challenging labor due to high blood pressure. I had no other symptoms of preeclampsia (no protien in my urine, my blood work was perfect, no other signs) just the super high bp. For a few weeks now I've been 50% effaced and 1cm dialated - NO CHANGE. I was on cervidil for 12 hours and it did a big fat nothing.  Though I actually adore being pregnant, now that I'm on house arrest modified bedrest, I'm even more anxious for my son's arrival but it sort of feels like it's never going to happen.  Of course I know it's going to ( Read more... )

Has anyone had high blood pressure through out the pregnancy that was NOT pre-eclampsia related? What did your doctors do/say to you? I ask because my BP has been a little high (mid 130s-140/80s) through out most of my second and third trimester (I am now 34w4d), and I even got my blood tested for pre-eclampsia once around 25 weeks (which came ( Read more... )

Hi Ladies,

I just returned from my 16 week appt.  I have high blood pressure (140/80).  I've never had issues with this in my life, and before my pregnancy I was sitting happily at 116/70 (ish).  If this was a fluke, I would be less nervous, but at my first appt. my blood pressure was 142/80.  I chocked it up to nerves, but now I'm not so sure.

This week has been a hectic week, and I go back to dr. tomorrow. Thursday I went for my regular 34 almost 35 week check up and got sent to labor and delivery as my bp was elevated, protein was in my urine, I had massive swelling and a horrible headache. I then got diagnosed with pregnancy induced hypertension and got bloodwork ran for preeclampsia ( Read more... )
